Nagaland: Sanitation drive and medical outreach at Longthonger Village

A sanitation drive and medical outreach programme under SBI Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels, supported by the Nature State Bank of India Foundation (SBIF), Nagaland, was conducted at Longthonger Village, Kiphire, on January 31, 2026.
Speaking at the programme, branch manager, SBI Kiphire Vewupe Doulo, acknowledged the ongoing efforts of Nature SBI Foundation in supporting communities across the district. He informed the gathering that SBI has around 13 crore inoperative accounts and urged people and organisations to check and claim any pending accounts, while encouraging continued support for SBI initiatives.
Project lead of Nature SBI Foundation, Longtili C. Sangtam, shared the January 2026 progress report, highlighting that the team reached 1,124 beneficiaries, conducted 262 laboratory tests, organised 54 Mobile OPDs (MOPDs), referred 11 patients to the District Hospital, and held one specialised dental camp, two awareness camps, and one sanitation drive across the district.
A session on the Importance of Sanitation was conducted by the medical officer of Nature SBIF, Nagaland. The session highlighted the significance of regular hand washing, proper waste segregation, and maintaining clean drainage systems. Villagers were encouraged to actively participate and properly utilise the sanitation materials provided, which were distributed by the SBI Kiphire Branch Manager.
Following the session, a sanitation drive was conducted at public areas including the Public Ground, Village Council Hall, and school premises. After the drive, a Mobile OPD (MOPD) was set up in the village to provide medical services to residents.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Longtili C. Sangtam, with the welcome address delivered by Village Council Chairman, Longthonger, and invocation by UESI Field Coordinator, Kiphire, Tsarise P. Sangtam.
