A Saksham Center was inaugurated at Kuhuboto Block under BMMU Kuhuboto with the objective of strengthening financial inclusion and expanding access to financial services for Self Help Group (SHG) members.
The center has been established under the banner of UNIFY Cluster Level Federation (CLF) and will serve as a dedicated platform to provide various financial services to SHG members of the block.
Agnes Ezung, DC (FI), DMMU Dimapur, graced the occasion as special guest. In her address, she emphasized the importance of utilizing the Saksham Center effectively to promote financial inclusion, particularly in Kuhuboto Block, which is considered one of the unbanked blocks. She highlighted that the center would play a crucial role in bridging the gap between SHG members and formal financial institutions. She further urged the Saksham Manager to work with dedication and commitment to ensure justice is done to the people of Kuhuboto Block by delivering quality financial services.
Chenton Konyak, Block Programme Manager (BPM), Kuhuboto Block, presented a brief overview of the NSRLM journey in the block. He encouraged SHG members to actively avail bank credit linkage, enroll in social security schemes, and benefit from various pension schemes facilitated through the NRLM framework. He reiterated the importance of financial discipline and regular engagement with banking services for sustainable livelihoods.
The programme also featured addresses from Bank Sakhis and FLCRPs, who shared their experiences and stressed the role of community resource persons in promoting financial literacy and inclusion at the grassroots level.
Earlier, Zhevi Achumi, Area Coordinator (FI), delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of the Saksham Center in empowering SHGs through improved access to financial services.
The inauguration of the Saksham Center marks a significant step towards strengthening community-based financial systems and enhancing the socio-economic empowerment of SHG members in Kuhuboto Block.
