Nagaland: DMC bans roadside waste disposal

DIMAPUR, FEB 2 (NPN)

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed the general public that improper dumping of construction and demolition (C&D) waste along roadsides, drains and open spaces was strictly prohibited.
In a public notice, DMC chief executive officer (CEO) Thungchanbemo Tungoe warned that such acts would attract penalties under applicable rules.
DMC has informed individuals, contractors and builders intending to dispose of C&D waste to do so only at the DMC dumpsite on payment of a prescribed fee of Rs.200. DMC further cautioned that disposal at unauthorized locations would invite legal action.
