Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) and Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) have expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident that occurred on January 31, 2026 at 10th Mile Road, Kohima, which claimed the lives of five women members of Chümoukedima Ao Baptist Church (CABA) and left several others injured.
In a condolence message, NCD conveyed its deepest sympathies to the bereaved families whose lives were shortened through the unfortunate accident. It also expressed grief and solidarity with the families, CABA congregation and the Ao community during this hour of pain. NCD further prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured who were physically and mentally tormented by the incident.
Meanwhile, WCH expressed profound anguish over the demise of the five women, describing them as pillars of faith, service and strength within the church and society. It said the incident has cast a pall of grief not only over the bereaved families and CABA congregation but also across the wider Naga community.
WCH extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving families, church leaders, Ao civil society organisations and the Ao community at large. It prayed that Almighty God grant His divine peace to the bereaved families and bring solace, strength and healing to all affected. WCH further prayed for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace and that their lives and testimonies continue to inspire faith and unity among the people.
