Nagaland: 33rd SASA Late Suhokhe Yeptho Memorial tourney begins

DIMAPUR, FEB 2 (NPN)

The 33rd Suruhuto Area Sports Association (SASA) Late Suhokhe Yeptho Memorial Football and Volleyball Tournament commenced on Monday with a formal inaugural programme, marking the beginning of one of the area’s most anticipated sporting events.
Deputy Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, S. Toiho Yeptho, graced the occasion as the special guest, while Sports Officer NAPTC, Joseph Sumi, attended as the guest speaker. The tournament is being organised in memory of Late Suhokhe Yeptho, father of S. Toiho Yeptho.
In his address, the guest speaker emphasised the importance of discipline, dedication and sportsmanship among players. He urged sportspersons to remain focused, respect their coaches and teammates and pursue excellence with sincerity and commitment. He further highlighted that sports play a vital role in building character, leadership, and unity among the youth, stressing that consistent effort and discipline are key to success both on and off the field.
The inaugural programme concluded with the special guest ceremonially kicking off the tournament, formally declaring the sporting events open.
