St. Joseph University (SJU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with department of Technical Education (DoTE) on February 9 with the aim to strengthen academic collaboration, promote technical education, and facilitate knowledge exchange for the benefit of students and faculty members.
According to SJU, the MoU was formally signed by vice-chancellor, SJU, Dr. D. Gnanadurai, and director, Department of Technical Education, Er. Vipulhou Lhoungu, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing technical education and collaborative academic initiatives.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries from department of Technical Education, including joint director, Er. David Tsela, and senior lecturer, Er. Ruokuobeilie Mere, who addressed the gathering and shared insights on the importance of institutional collaboration in meeting emerging educational and industry demands.
During the event, key dignitaries from SJU, namely Registrar, SJU, Dr. A. Robert Xavier, Controller of Examinations, SJU, Dr. S. Thiyagarajan, and Finance Controller, SJU, Rev. Sr. Sabeena were also honoured.
Head of Department, Civil Engineering, Reenamol T. X, presented an overview of the Civil Engineering and Computer Science Engineering departments, highlighting their academic initiatives, research activities, and future goals.
An open discussion session was also held, providing a platform for participants to share their perspectives and expectations regarding the MoU and its potential impact on academic growth and professional development.
The MoU signing ceremony was hosted by Assistant Professor, SJU, Dr. Ayilobeni Kikon, invocation by Assistant Professor, Nempivah Lienthang, while HoD, Computer Science and Engineering, P. Vevekanandan, delivered the vote of thanks.
