Nagaland: KDVFA launches jersey, racksuit ahead of tourney

The Kohima District Veteran Football Association (KDVFA) on Sunday launched its official jersey and tracksuit for the upcoming Nagaland Veteran Football Tournament, scheduled to be held from February 10.
The launching programme took place at Chimney Hut, Secretariat Road, Kohima, on Sunday afternoon.
The team’s match jerseys and travel jerseys, sponsored by former MLA Khriehu Liezietsu, were formally launched by KDVFA treasurer Peter Kuotsu. The team’s tracksuit, jointly sponsored by KDVFA president Kevingutuo Kutu Sekhose and treasurer Kuotsu, was launched by the president.
Delivering a brief exhortation, KDVFA president Sekhose stated that the team had been practising rigorously over the past few days, demonstrating eagerness and hard work. He expressed gratitude to the players for their cooperation during training sessions and acknowledged their commitment to giving their best in preparation for the tournament.
Sekhose urged the players to maintain discipline, noting that discipline had been a key factor in the team’s past performances. He reminded the players that the real challenge would be demonstrated on the field by each individual and encouraged them to give their best for the district.
Recalling the strong teamwork displayed in the previous edition of the tournament, he emphasised the need to maintain the same level of unity and cooperation. He also announced Angulie Dul as the team captain.
Senior coach Arun Kumar, in a short address, stated that while situations on the field could sometimes become intense, it was important for all players to cooperate and support one another. He emphasised that football was a team sport and required contributions from every member of the squad.
KDVFA press secretary Roko Angami informed that verification of all players would be conducted ahead of the tournament. He expressed gratitude to all sponsors for their support in providing the jerseys and tracksuits. Highlighting that the team was the defending champion, he noted that expectations from other districts would be high and stressed the importance of performing to the best of their abilities.
Angami further stated that as veteran players, team members were expected to guide one another and uphold sportsmanship, adding that the team would strive to give its best performance while maintaining sporting spirit regardless of the outcome.
The programme was chaired by KDVFA team player and director of Economics and Statistics, Neidilhoutuo Keditsu.
