Nagaland: PCC observes World Radio Day

Dimapur

Department of Mass Communication, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), celebrated World Radio Day with a creative programme held at the department premises on February 13.
On the occasion, second-year Mass Communication students launched an original radio jingle titled “Campus Waves” as a tribute to campus radio and student expression, highlighting the continued relevance of radio in today’s changing media landscape. This year’s theme, “Radio and Artificial Intelligence: AI is a tool, not a voice,” guided discussions on how AI can support radio in production, editing, and distribution, while stressing that human voice, emotion, and storytelling remain central to broadcasting.
“Campus Waves” was sung by Sharon Woleng and Benri Murry, with production led by Toto Achumi and Bendangsunep Sor. Lyrics were composed by Mhabemo Jungio and Tsurunkhuing Yimchunger, while recording was handled by Vizaneino Kiso and Chingri Rainam. Backup vocals were provided by Hosea Weitsi, Rangcholi G.N., and Surotsa Anar. The music was created using BandLab at the department studio, showcasing the students’ ability to blend digital tools with creative storytelling.
