NPGN/NNC has expressed grief over the demise of its ato kilonser, late Shitoho Chophi, who passed away in a Guwahati hospital on February 12, 2026.
In a condolence message, NPGN/NNC described late Chiphi’s demise as “a heavy blow to the Naga nation”, saying he dedicated his life to the noble cause of Naga people.
The group also stated that late Chophi was a beacon of hope and inspiration, guiding Naga nation with wisdom, courage, and unwavering commitment.
Further, NPGN/NNC stated that late Chophi’s “selfless service, unrelenting passion” for the welfare of Naga people, and “unshakeable dedication” to the Naga cause would be remembered forever. It said that his leadership and vision inspired many, adding that his absence would be deeply felt by all who knew him, and by the entire Naga society.
NPGN/NNC extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, and dear ones, praying that they find strength and solace during this time of sorrow.
NPGN/NNC tatar hoho appoints new ato kilonser: NPGN/NNC through its MIP secretary informed that the national tatar hoho speaker and members of NPGN/NNC, in the presence of the president, had “unanimously and with great solemnity” appointed Hokato Rotokha as the new ato kilonser of NPGN/NNC.
MIP secretary said the decision followed after thorough deliberation and in a spirit of mutual understanding, reflecting the collective commitment to the welfare and progress of the Naga nation.
NPGN/NNC expressed full faith and confidence in Rotokha’s abilities, experience, and leadership qualities, and entrusted him with the new responsibilities.
The group expressed confidence that he would continue to uphold the ideals and objectives of NPGN/NNC, and work tirelessly for the welfare and prosperity of the people.
NPGN/NNC wished the new ato kilonser success and strength in his new role, and assured him of its full support and cooperation.
