Two NCC Senior Wing cadets of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, were among the 176 selected cadets of the NCC Directorate North East Region contingent who participated in the prestigious Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 held in New Delhi from December 29, 2025 to January 29, 2026.
The cadets, JUO Kekhriesanuo Rupreo and CPL Metevino Natso, brought laurels to the institution as part of the winning team that secured the trophy for cultural events at RDC 2026. JUO Kekhriesanuo was the lead singer in the group singing competition and also took part in the ballet competition, while CPL Metevino contributed as a bass guitarist in the group singing, and participated in the group dance, ballet, and the Prime Minister’s Rally cultural programme.
Their performances were showcased during the visit of Gen. Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, C.P. Radhakrishnan, vice-president of India, and during the Youth Exchange Programme with foreign cadets at the Directorate General NCC campus, New Delhi.
On their return on February 3, the NCC Directorate NER contingent was felicitated by Maj. Gen. Anurag Vij, Additional Director General, NCC DTE NER, at Guwahati. The management and NCC unit of St. Joseph’s College also felicitated the cadets on February 11, lauding their achievements and expressing gratitude to all officers of the organization, particularly Col. Lovelesh Panghal, CO, 1 Nagaland BN NCC, Kohima, for his guidance and support.
