Nagaland: PDFA conducts players’ auction for Peren District Football League 3.0

DIMAPUR, FEB 14 (NPN)

The Players’ Auction for the upcoming Peren District Football League (PDFL) Season 3 of the Peren District Football Association (PDFA) was successfully held at Jalukie Town on February 13, marking a significant step in promoting professional football culture in the district.
A total of seven clubs participated in the auction, which was designed to ensure equal distribution of talented district players while also offering them an opportunity to earn based on performance and market demand. Out of 40 registered players, 36 were successfully sold, generating a total bidding amount of Rs. 4,21,500. To maintain fairness and competitive balance, organisers had set a maximum price cap of Rs. 15,000 per player.
This marks the second edition of the player auction in the history of the league and is notable as the first-ever player auction system introduced for any football tournament in Nagaland State. Organisers highlighted that the initiative has enhanced transparency, competitiveness, and professionalism in the league while motivating local footballers by recognising their value and performance.
Among the clubs, Friends of Society secured players worth Rs. 80,000, Nchangram Lun Rs. 73,500, Kingdom Stewards Rs. 58,500, Poilwa Rs. 64,500, Mbaupungwa Rs. 60,000, Football Plus Academy Rs. 33,000 and Lekie Mtei FC Rs. 52,000.
The Peren District Football League Season 3 is expected to commence soon, promising an exciting and highly competitive tournament that will further strengthen grassroots football development in the district.
