DIMAPUR: Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) Regional Office for the North Eastern Region (NER) organised two Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) for the export promotion of agriculture and horticulture produce of Nagaland, in association with the District Agriculture Office, Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland.
According to a press release from APEDA, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, Business Development Manager Joydev Roy informed that this was the first time in history that APEDA had organised programmes in Shamator and Kiphire districts.
The first programme was held on February 13 at the District Agriculture Office, Shamator, where Tsulun K, agriculture inspector of Shamator district, delivered the welcome address. Around 79 participants attended, including officials from the district administration and District Agriculture Office, as well as farmers, entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups.
On February 14, the second programme was conducted at the District Agriculture Office, Kiphire. Rakhwetsholo Kapfo, DAO Kiphire, opened the session with the welcome address.
A total of 68 participants attended, comprising officials from the District Agriculture Office, District Industries Office, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kiphire, along with farmers, entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups.
In both events, APEDA officials spoke on the role of APEDA in exports, documentation required for exports, schemes of APEDA, and quality standards to be maintained. Demonstrations were also given on the APEDA portal, IEC & RCMC registration via DGFT portal, registration under PQMS portal for obtaining Phytosanitary Certificates, and registration under ICEGATE for Customs Clearance facilities.
