1 held for sexually assaulting minor

A person has been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a minor and is currently in police custody.
Confirming the incident, Mokokchung police informed that upon receipt of a complaint, a case was registered and the accused was arrested. The case has been registered under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
According to police sources, the accused is reportedly the victim’s father. However, officials declined to divulge further details, citing legal provisions that protect the identity and privacy of the minor. Police added that investigation into the matter is ongoing.
