All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG), 2015 batch, entered the 12th day of its indefinite protest on Thursday following inconclusive talks with the state government over the regularisation of 1,166 teachers.
ANATG member informed that the agitation was carried out from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with members continuing their sit-in demonstration. The member said the group submitted a letter to the commissioner & secretary through the principal director, reiterating their demand for immediate regularisation.
According to the member, the group was informed that department officials are currently holding discussions with stakeholders on the matter.
He stated that despite the prolonged delay in resolving the issue, the teachers remain hopeful of a positive outcome from the government.
On the issue of missing documents reportedly linked to the regularisation process, the member said the group was unable to verify every detail, as some of the documents being sought could not be produced even by the department concerned, which is expected to be the custodian of such records.
The member further asserted that the protesters would not withdraw the agitation until their demand for regularisation is fulfilled.
