Kohima Premier League Season 2 enters Day 2 at Sovima

The Season 2 Kohima Premier League (KPL) 2026, under the aegis of the Kohima District Cricket Association, entered its second day at Sovima Cricket Ground, Chumoukedima, on Wednesday.
In the first match, Capital Sixers defeated Oking Outlaws in a competitive encounter. After losing the toss, Oking Outlaws were put in to bat first and posted 145/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Seyievizo once again top-scored with 67 runs off 49 balls, while Epha contributed 35 runs off 35 balls. For the Sixers, Thejasetuo, Keviselhou and Sangtsulen picked up one wicket each.
In reply, Capital Sixers chased down the target comfortably in 18.4 overs. Peter anchored the innings with 50 runs off 37 balls, supported by Imomenba (27) and Dziesevotuo John (23). Thupuluzo claimed two wickets for the Outlaws, while Veri and Ketoukhriezo took one wicket apiece. Peter was adjudged “Man of the Match” for his half-century.
In the second match, Central Hurricanes secured a narrow victory over Ura Mavericks. After winning the toss, Central Hurricanes opted to bat first but were bowled out for 97 runs in 17.5 overs. Kenendi scored 26 runs off 34 balls, while Thejao added 16 off 12 deliveries.
Imkumlong led the Ura Mavericks bowling attack with an impressive spell of 3 wickets for 19 runs in four overs. Sepichem and Tapitu supported well with two wickets each.
However, in the run chase, Ura Mavericks failed to capitalise on a promising start and were bowled out for 83 runs. Captain Moasosang scored 22 runs, Tachuye added 14, while Mengu Sachü and Tapitu chipped in with 13 runs each.
Central Hurricanes captain Vizale Shüya delivered a match-winning performance, claiming 4 wickets for 10 runs in 2.4 overs, including a maiden. Kelhousilie provided strong support with 2 wickets for just 5 runs in four overs, bowling two maidens. Vizale Shüya was adjudged “Man of the Match” for his outstanding figures of 4/10.
