The Chakhroma Students’ Union (CSU) has condemned the recent assault on leaders of the CPO, led by the president and his team by certain volunteers of Moava Village. It stated that the leader of CPO had gone in good faith for a peaceful dialogue to address and resolve the longstanding land issue.
A press release by the media cell of CSU said the aggression displayed, including the reported assault, is deeply disturbing and wholly unacceptable, adding that such acts of hostility undermine the spirit of mutual respect, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence that our society upholds.
CSU said that it stands in firm solidarity with the affected leaders and extends its unwavering support during this difficult time and wishes the EAC and the armed personnel who sustained injuries during the conflict, a speedy recovery.
CSU further urged all communities to exercise restraint, uphold peace, and refrain from any actions or statements that may further escalate tensions. It said that the path forward must be guided by dialogue, justice, and a shared commitment to harmony.
The Chakhroma Students’ Union also affirmed that it remains steadfast in safeguarding the dignity, safety, and unity of our people while promoting the lawful and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
