CorrespondentKOHIMA, FEB 20 (NPN):

All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers Group (ANATG) 2015 batch core committee, informed that the group has decided to temporarily suspend its ongoing protest following a series of written communications from the Department of School Education.
The decision came after receiving written assurances from the principal director, School Education letter dated February 12, 2026); commissioner & secretary School Education & SCERT letter dated February 13, 2026, and another communication from principal director letter dated February 19, 2026 issued in response to ANATG’s letter of the same date.
In an emergency meeting convened to deliberate on the matter on Friday, the core committee resolved to keep the protest on hold in good faith, acknowledging the department’s written assurance to work out an alternative solution to address the impasse arising from incomplete documents and to assign a designated officer to handle the ANATG file.
However, the committee set June 30, 2026 as the deadline for completing all alternative arrangements, procedures and processes related to the regularisation of ANATG members.
It cautioned that if the long-pending issue of regularisation is not resolved within the stipulated timeframe, ANATG would resume its democratic protest in a more intensified manner.

Speaking to the media, ANATG core committee member said the group remained stationed in Kohima for over two weeks, continuing its peaceful demonstration while maintaining active engagement with government authorities and its parent body, All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA).
