Pangti Action Committee (PAC) on Doyang- Mangmetong PMGSY road has expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of construction on the Doyang–Mangmetong PMGSY road, stating that despite repeated requests, progress remains far from satisfactory.
In a letter to Contractor, M/s. LPSS Infra, Kohima, PAC convenor, Y Renbomo Kikon and member secretary, Er. Wobansao Kithan stated that at the present pace, the project would not be completed within the stipulated timeframe. It noted that the concern was also shared by the minister for Roads and Bridges, during his visit on February 13, 2026.
In this regard, PAC has urged the authorities to expedite the works by deploying more machinery and stocking construction materials to commence other components such as cross drainage, side drainage, retaining walls and breast walls before the onset of monsoon. The committee further highlighted that dust emanating from the newly cut road was extremely hazardous to health and posed a high risk of collision due to poor visibility. It requested immediate deployment of water tanks for dust suppression, warning that failure to do so would make the authorities responsible for any accidents. PAC also pointed out that in several sections where earth cutting appeared complete, the road width was below the required Right of Way (ROW). It urged the department to revisit such areas and ensure pavement specifications were met.
On behalf of the committee and the public, PAC once again appealed to the authorities to expedite the works at the earliest.
