A workshop on “Promoting Made in Nagaland” was successfully conducted in Wokha district under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative. The program aimed at strengthening local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by enhancing their competitiveness, sustainability, and market expansion potential.
The workshop brought together aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, providing a platform to discuss opportunities, challenges, and growth strategies for locally produced goods.
The Make in Nagaland session focused on promoting locally manufactured and indigenous products by strengthening branding, packaging, quality standards, and market positioning. Entrepreneurs were encouraged to explore wider markets beyond the district and state. The session emphasized on self-reliance, value addition, and building a strong identity for Nagaland-made products.
Special emphasis was placed on scaling and sustainability of business. The Technical expert (TE) was taken by Thunglamo Humtsoe, the founder of Urban growers (states first Commercial hydroponics farming) and also the founder of TM hydrocultivation solution Pvt Ltd.
He highlighted the importance of MSME profitability, raw material procurement, quality control checklist where each MSME was also encouraged to note one improvement in their business.
Discussions centered on improving productivity, maintaining quality standards, and creating scalable and sustainable business models suited to evolving market demands. RAMP is a world bank program implemented by NIDC and Department of industries and commerce, Government of Nagaland.
