Nagaland Government Teachers’ Association (2010 & 2013 batches) has announced phase-I peaceful and democratic protest starting February 26 at Directorate of School Education (DoSE) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
NGTA stated that they were formally mainstreamed into the state education cadre vide Order dated September 2, 2022 with effect from April 21, 2022, pursuant to Cabinet approval. However, even after the lapse of more than three years, NGTA said their salaries continued to be drawn under CSS funding rather than appropriate State Account Head applicable on a par with other regular state cadre employees.
NGTA said several representations and appeals were made over the years for inclusion of their salary component into the state non development expenditure.
The association stated that since they received no concrete response, a final seven-day ultimatum was served on February 16, 2026 to address their legitimate demand within the stipulated time. NGTA said it also observed two-day pen down strike on February 24 & 25, 2026 but things remained unresolved.
Therefore, the association said it was left with no option but to stage a peaceful and democratic form of protest from February 26, 2026 until the demand was met.
NGTA to begin phase-I protest from Feb 26
