Wokha RTO invites applications for 2-wheeler taxi permit

The Regional Transport Authority (RTO), Wokha, has invited applications from eligible candidates of Wokha district for two-wheeler taxi permits. According to a DIPR report, applicants must be indigenous inhabitants and permanent residents of Wokha, aged 20–40, and hold valid Aadhaar, Scheduled Tribe certificates, a two-wheeler driving license, and an unemployment certificate. Application forms are available from February 24 at the office of the DC Wokha, and the last date for submission is March 27, 2026. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a riding test and interview. An undertaking from the vehicle owner or permit holder is also required. The permit will be valid for five years initially, renewable for another five, and is non-transferable. The two-wheeler must be brand new with an engine capacity of 125 cc or above. The permit holder must personally operate the taxi, while pillion riders must also wear ISI-certified helmets. Only one pillion rider is allowed.
