The 43rd Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) general conference was held at AGOK Badze, Meriema on February 27, 2026.
Addressing the gathering, speaker, peace activist and social reformer Niketu Iralu cautioned that Nagas are confronted with immense crises and must be prepared to respond to their size and complexity. He reminded that the challenges faced locally and regionally are manifestations of continental and global crises.
Iralu noted that the Angami Public Organisation (APO) and its associated bodies, including AGOK, have moved beyond routine discussions to evolving new thinking, plans and actions that society must collectively understand and accept in order to confront unprecedented challenges together. He urged the community to discern the signs of changing times and respond effectively to rapid and uncontrollable transformations.
In his presidential address, president APO, Thejao Vihienuo acknowledged the organisation’s tireless and strategic efforts for public welfare and youth empowerment. He stressed that in today’s fast-changing society, protecting the environment has become a top priority, while the advent of artificial intelligence and robotics poses new challenges.
He called upon leaders and intellectuals to guide the youth towards a secure future, emphasising that children remain society’s most priceless possession.
Vihieno further described AGOK as one of the most influential opinion-making organisations among the Angamis, urging members to work in unison with APO for the betterment of the people.
During the conference, AGOK general secretary Nongozo Rikha presented a detailed report on activities undertaken from 2024 to 2026, while SAGOK general secretary and audit committee convenor Medoseho Sothu presented the audit report.
The house later resolved to retain members of the previous tenure to continue further for the period 2026–2028.
