Glance Skilling Centre was officially inaugurated with a dedicatory prayer ceremony on March 2 at Duncan Bosti, Tajen Ao Road, Dimapur. The prayer was led by Rev. Wati Kichu and family, marking the beginning of a new skill development initiative.
The centre has been established under the guidance of Esther Jamir, proprietor of Glance Boutique.
Esther, widely recognised as the first supermodel from Northeast India, has been a prominent figure in the fashion and garment industry for decades and has successfully run Glance Boutique for the past 12 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Esther said the vision of the Glance Skilling Centre goes beyond teaching stitching techniques. She emphasised the importance of understanding client requirements, developing professional discipline and gaining a comprehensive knowledge of the fashion industry. She added that students will be trained not only in basic and advanced cutting and tailoring but also guided to start and manage their own tailoring units or boutiques.
She further stated that the centre aims to empower both men and women by equipping them with practical skills, confidence and entrepreneurial knowledge necessary to succeed in today’s competitive market. The centre is scheduled to commence its courses from the third week of March 2026, with enrolment currently open.
