AAA peer team visits Modern College Piphema

Modern College, Piphema hosted the Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) peer team visit on March 10, 2026, as part of the quality assurance initiative undertaken by the Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland. The visit aimed to review the academic performance, administrative practices, institutional governance, and overall functioning of the college.
The audit team was led by Dr. Lily Sema (Retd), Director of Higher Education, serving as the convenor. She was accompanied by SCTE, principal Dr. Elizabeth Walling and St. Joseph’s College (A), principal Dr. Fr. George Kedulhou, as members of the peer team.
The programme began with a detailed presentation by the principal of Modern College, highlighting the institution’s vision, academic achievements, infrastructure development, student support services, and future plans.
This was followed by an interactive session with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and departmental presentations, during which faculty members shared insights on academic activities, research initiatives, and departmental progress.
The peer team also engaged with student leaders of the Modern College Students’ Union (MCSU) and held discussions with students during classroom visitations to understand their learning experiences and participation in academic and extracurricular activities.
Further interactions were conducted with members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and alumni, providing the team with broader perspectives on the institution’s overall impact and engagement with stakeholders.
During the visit, the peer team conducted inspections of key sections of the college, including the administrative office, accounts section, library, various clubs and committees, and the MCSU office. The team also undertook a comprehensive campus tour, visiting facilities such as the botanical garden, dairy farm, stone crushing unit, basketball and volleyball courts, indoor stadium, canteen, hostels for men and women, and the football ground.
The visit concluded with an exit meeting where the peer team shared their observations, providing constructive suggestions and recommendations aimed at further strengthening academic excellence, institutional governance, and student development.
