State reviews Support for Statistical Strengthening scheme

The Department of Economics and Statistics convened a meeting of the State High Level Steering Committee (SHLSC) on the Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) sub-scheme under the chairmanship of chief secretary Sentiyanger Imchen on March 9 at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Conference Hall. The meeting reviewed and approved various activities under the scheme.
According to a press release, the SSS sub-scheme is a central sector scheme with 100 percent funding from the Centre, aimed at strengthening the capacity of the State Statistical System.
The programme is implemented under the aegis of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and seeks to enhance the collection, compilation, and dissemination of timely and reliable official statistics to support evidence-based planning and policy formulation.
During the meeting, four reports prepared under the scheme were officially released. These included the Report on Income Disparity in Nagaland, 2025, the Time Use Survey in Nagaland, 2025, the Survey on Forest and Forest Products in Nagaland, 2025, and the Study on Rates and Ratios Used in Estimation of Gross Value Added (Construction) for Nagaland.
