GPRN/NSCN (Unification) clarifies and cautions

DIMAPUR:

GPRN/NSCN (Unification) has categorically refuted the news report alleging the arrest of one Yehekhu, purportedly the deputy secretary of NSCN (U), son of the late Yekishe of Shoipu village under Satakha Police Station, Zunheboto District.
A press release by GPRN/NSCN (U), through its MIP, clarified unequivocally and for avoidance of any ambiguity that the individual identified by the aforementioned name, who was reportedly arrested from a farmhouse said to belong to one of the top functionaries of NSCN (Khongo-Hokato), located at Vihokhu Village, does not, under any circumstances whatsoever, belong to or hold any position within the GPRN/NSCN (U).
The Ministry further reiterated with “utmost clarity that there exists only one Naga nationalist organisation functioning under the name GPRN/NSCN (Unification), which is led by its president, Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak, and Ato Kilonser, Alezo Venuh.”
The Ministry also strongly cautioned all individuals, organisations, law enforcing authority and media entities to refrain from arriving at premature or unfounded conclusions without proper verification and authentication of facts.
“The dissemination of inaccurate or misleading information has the potential to cause unnecessary confusion which may tarnish the reputation of the organization”, it stated.
The release noted that GPRN/NSCN (U) reserves absolute right to initiate appropriate and stringent action deemed fit against any individual or organization is found spreading unverified allegations or malicious reports with an intent of maligning the image and integrity of the GPRN/NSCN (Unification).
