Nagaland is entering a new era in sports development with the pioneering work of Khrietseizo Khezhie, one of the state’s few professionally trained Sports Performance Analysts. With a Master’s degree in Sports Technology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Performance Analysis from NSNIS, and a Strength and Conditioning certification from ASCA (Australia), Khezhie is bridging the crucial gap between performance data and athlete development.
His expertise has already been felt at major events including the Dr. T. Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship (2025-26), the 9th Captain Kenguruse MVC Memorial Football Tournament (2025), and the 30th Nagaland Wrestling Association Championship (2026). By combining evidence-based conditioning programmes with advanced performance analysis, he has worked closely with athletes at both state and national levels, fostering long-term growth and excellence.
Khezhie’s journey is further enriched by his own experience as a competitor. He represented Nagaland at the 71st Senior National Basketball Championship in 2022 and won a silver medal in Discus Throw at the North East Games in 2016. His career reflects resilience, discipline and a deep commitment to uplifting sports in the state.
Sports associations are being urged to recognize the importance of professionals like Khezhie, whose knowledge can transform athletes into national and international contenders. For the youth, his career path serves as an inspiring example of how sports science and technology can open new opportunities.
Standing as a beacon of innovation and dedication, Khrietseizo Khezhie proves that with the right expertise, Nagaland can nurture athletes who not only compete but excel on the national stage. His work signals a call for associations, academies and institutions to invest in professionals who can elevate sports development and build a lasting sporting legacy for the state.
