National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland Unit has welcomed the appointment of Mmhonlumo Kikon as the National general secretary (Political) of the NPP, under the leadership of party president Conrad K. Sangma. In a statement, NPP Nagaland described the appointment as a significant step that would strengthen the party’s political outreach and organisational structure across the Northeast and the country. The unit expressed confidence that Kikon’s political experience, leadership qualities and commitment to public service would contribute to the growth and consolidation of the party.
The Nagaland Unit also conveyed appreciation to the National president for entrusting a leader from Nagaland with such a crucial responsibility, highlighting that the recognition reflects the growing importance of Nagaland within the party and would inspire workers across the state to work with renewed dedication and unity. Meanwhile, it informed that P.K. James Sangma, working president of NPP, will inaugurate the state offices of the NPYF and NPWF at Dimapur on March 14, 2026. Party leaders and workers have been requested to attend and extend support to the programme.
