Pro Fitness Gym, a renowned fitness center in Wokha established in 2024, has taken a significant step toward its mission of eradicating drug addiction and promoting healthy lifestyles among youth. On March 16, the gym collaborated with Ekumrhong Rehab Centre to launch free fitness training sessions for the Centre’s clients.
Ekumrhong Rehab Centre, located at Yikhum village, was founded in 2021 by the Yikhum Baptist Church with the vision of transforming lives and bringing individuals closer to God. The Centre operates without government assistance and focuses on helping Nagas overcome drug addiction.
According to director of Ekumrhong Rehab Centre, Mhabemo Odyuo, the facility admits clients for a 45-day rehabilitation programme with only a mess fee of Rs. 7,000. Since its inception, the Centre has served more than 200 clients, many of whom have successfully overcome addiction, while others continue to receive dedicated support.
The director further shared that the Centre organizes exposure activities every 30 days to aid recovery. While the collaboration with Pro Fitness Gym marked the clients’ first gym experience, they have also engaged in futsal, outdoor sports and recreational activities as part of their rehabilitation journey.
