Institutions comprising Eastern Bible College (EBC), AG Higher Secondary School (AGHSS), Gospel Centre Church School, Eastern Public school, observed 52nd Mission Foundation Day at the Buntain Chapel in EBC campus, Bank Colony on Tuesday.
Members from central church council Dimapur AGEI churches, Christian leaders, believers and students from different denominations and communities from different states attended the programme to mark the occasion.
Rev. Dr. T. N. Lotha Jr, who delivered a message on ‘God’s love’, based on the scripture verses from John 13:34 and 35 and 1 John 4, recounted how institutions spread across Nagaland and different states planted by his father, the late Dr. T. N. Lotha Sr, was largely because of the love for God and people that was planted in his heart.
He said the primary purpose of the institutions was to show the love of God to people and teach them to love one another just as God loved His people.
Stating that Godly love is not merely confined to a denomination, social circle or tribe, Rev. Dr. T. N. Lotha Jr urged the congregation to love beyond their denomination and tribe and embrace everyone like God loved the world.
He reminded the congregation that those who practiced God’s love, know God and God abides in them, are perfected with boldness for the day of judgement.
Other highlights of the programme included, welcome address by AGHSS principal David Ngullie, song by EBC choir, a poem recitation by Sarah of AGHSS, reports by Arjun and Khyojano for AGHSS and EBC respectively, scripture reading by pastor Ejing Sangma, offertory prayer by Rev. Man Bahadur.
