PDFL: Kingdom Stewards, Poilwa into qualifiers

The Peren District Football League (PDFL) 3.0 witnessed high-octane clashes at the Astro Turf Ground, Jalukie Town on Thursday, as Kingdom Stewards and Poilwa FC secured their places in the qualifiers, joining Nchangram Lun FC and Lekie Mtei FC.
In the first match of the day, Kingdom Stewards overcame Friends of Society in a tightly contested encounter. The Stewards took the lead in the 23rd minute when Hainding finished off a fast break assisted by Kaisikam. Friends of Society equalized through a penalty converted by Lungpetsing in the 59th minute. However, Kingdom Stewards regained the advantage in the 75th minute when Lalminthang capitalized on a goalkeeper’s error to head home. A potential equalizer from Friends of Society was disallowed after the ball was deemed to have crossed out of play. Haominlal and Icuilung received yellow cards, while Haominlal was named Man of the Match for his performance.
The second match between Poilwa FC and Mbaupunggwa FC proved equally dramatic. Poilwa struck early in the 11th minute when Peilungning converted a pass from Ngamminlun. Mbaupunggwa responded just before halftime, with Janguanglung scoring in stoppage time (45+2). Poilwa regained control in the second half, as Peilungning netted again in the 58th minute, followed by Rangliakum’s strike in the 73rd minute. Mbaupunggwa pulled one back through a penalty converted by Chingthaipou in the 79th minute, but Poilwa held firm to secure victory.
The match also saw disciplinary action, with Kodiheing, Charakung, Kinthuilung, and Ratobe cautioned with yellow cards for unsporting behavior.
With these results, Kingdom Stewards and Poilwa FC now progress to the qualifiers, setting the stage for an exciting continuation of the PDFL 3.0 tournament.
