Nagaland’s Iilikhrie Folk Group, with Seyie Intrepid, performed at the Directorate General Assam Rifles (DGAR), Shillong, as part of the North East Cultural Programme aimed at showcasing the region’s living traditions.
According to a press release, the event was graced by the Governor of Meghalaya and Director General Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, PVSM, SM, and was attended by inspectors general and senior officers of the Assam Rifles.
The troupe captivated the audience with traditional songs and dances, presented in full traditional attire. Their performance was met with warm appreciation for its authenticity, vibrancy, and energy.
A DGAR spokesperson stated that the ongoing cultural series seeks to strengthen cultural bridges across the Northeast while honouring the region’s youth ambassadors who actively promote indigenous heritage.
On behalf of the group, Dr Keneilhoulie medom, founder of Iilikhrie Folk Group, expressed gratitude to DGAR and the attending dignitaries. He reaffirmed Nagaland’s commitment to preserving and sharing its rich cultural heritage with wider audiences.
