IAS probationers visit NBHM; encouraged to be ‘bee ambassadors’

DIMAPUR:

As part of their winter study tour, ten IAS officer trainees of the 2025 batch visited the Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) on March 20. The team was led by group leader Ira Jorwal and associate group leader Neelesh Goyal.
During the visit, the probationers were briefed on NBHM activities and encouraged to become “Bee Ambassadors” to spread awareness on the importance of honey bees and beekeeping. They held active interactions with NBHM teams, enquiring about various aspects of apiculture.
The trainees also inspected the Honey Processing Plant, which is currently under construction, and visited the Honey Hub.
According to officials, the intent behind the tour was to enable the probationers to learn about welfare initiatives and schemes of the Government of India and the State government, and to understand how policies are implemented at the grassroots level.
