NPF stresses unity, grassroots strength

The Naga People’s Front (NPF), Zunheboto Division, kicked off its Zunheboto Division Constituencies Tour Programme with a consultative meeting held at GBS Hall in Aghunato Town. The tour aims to emphasise the importance of strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
According to a press release, in his speech, general secretary, Central Office Bearers (COB) of NPF, Kuhoi Zhimo, stressed the need to strengthen the party, stating that the NPF is one of the oldest regional parties. He further suggested that a merger between the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the NPF would be beneficial for its growth.
Zhimo also said that party leaders envision expanding the NPF and eventually elevating it to a national party. He emphasised unity across all sections, noting that such cohesion would bring greater recognition for the Nagas from the Government of India.
President of NPF Zunheboto Division, Khehoshe Yepthomi, highlighted the importance of conducting the upcoming population census properly. He pointed out that the population of Zunheboto district in 2011 had declined compared to the 2001 census, and urged party members to cooperate with the administration and enumerators to ensure accurate data collection.
Vice president of Zunheboto Division, Vikaho Zhimomi, called upon party workers of the 34 A/C to remain sincere and committed. He urged them to stay united, support their constituency representative, and work collectively. Secretary, COB NPF, Kakheho Yepthomi, highlighted various government schemes, including PMKSY under the Water Resources Department, NSDMA initiatives, PMEGP, Social Welfare schemes, PM-Kisan, and PMAY (Housing for All). He encouraged members to actively engage and benefit from these programmes.
Earlier, the meeting was chaired by working president, NPF 34 A/C, Kughaho Zhimo, with an invocation by secretary of the women wing, Kasheli T.. A welcome address was delivered by president of 34 A/C NPF, Akato Yeptho, while a special song was presented by vice president of the youth wing, Mughase Zhimomi.
Short speeches were delivered by various wings of 34 A/C. The event concluded with a discussion session, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Tohuvi Yeptho and a closing prayer offered by Nizhehe Kinnimi.
