BBBP felicitates mothers, newborn girls in Wokha

Wokha District Administration, Department of Social Welfare, and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (Mission Shakti), organised a felicitation programme for mothers and newborn baby girls at the DC’s Conference Hall, Wokha, on Tuesday.
Altogether, 190 mothers and newborn baby girls were felicitated during the event, with warm blankets distributed as part of the initiative. Epidemiologist Dr. Khesheli Awomi delivered a session on “Complementary Feeding: Right Food, Right Time, Right Amount”, highlighting the importance of proper nutrition for child health. The programme was chaired by DHEW gender specialist, Merithung Lotha, while the vote of thanks was proposed by DHEW district mission coordinator, Dr. Wonjano E. Enny.
The event reaffirmed the commitment of the district administration and social welfare agencies towards maternal and child welfare, reinforcing the vision of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to empower women and ensure a healthier future for the girl child.
