Delhi Assembly hit by fresh bomb threat; email sender claims disillusionment with DMK.

The Delhi Legislative Assembly received another bomb threat via email on Wednesday, prompting heightened security. The message claimed 16 RDX-based IEDs were planted inside the premises, set to detonate at 1:40 P.M. The sender, identifying himself from Coimbatore, alleged betrayal by the DMK party and said the group chose the Assembly as a target out of desperation. The email included inflammatory slogans and urged evacuation.

This followed Tuesday’s threats, when separate emails targeted the Assembly and Speaker Vijender Gupta, warning of blasts at the Assembly and a nearby Metro station. One email was sent to the Speaker’s account at 7:49 A.M., and another to the Assembly’s official ID at 7:28 A.M., mentioning several high-profile leaders including the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, and Delhi Chief Minister.

Police launched investigations to trace the origin of the emails and tightened security around the Assembly. Bomb disposal squads and emergency services were placed on alert. A similar threat had earlier surfaced on February 23, when Speaker Gupta received an email from alleged ‘Khalistan’ supporters warning of a blast, amid controversy over remarks attributed to Leader of Opposition Atishi.
