Nagaland CM tables finance reports in Assembly

State chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio on Thursday tabled multiple reports, rules and financial statements during the ongoing phase-II of the eighth session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) at Kohima.
According to DIPR, Rio presented copies of the Report of the Fourth Nagaland State Finance Commission (2026–27 to 2030–31) Part I (Urban Local Bodies) along with the explanatory memorandum on action taken, and Part II (April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2026) relating to Rural Local Bodies, along with its action taken report. He also tabled the Gender Budget Statement for 2026–27.
The Chief Minister further laid before the House four reports—Report No. 2 of 2025 (Civil and Commercial), covering Social (including Local Governments Audit), Economic, General and Revenue Sectors for the year ended March 31, 2023; Finance Accounts (Volume I and II) for 2024–25; and Appropriation Accounts for 2024–25. He also presented the Review of Trends in Receipts and Expenditure for the first three quarters of 2025–26 under the Nagaland Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2005.
Rio additionally presented the Supplementary Demand for Grants for 2025–26 and proposals for regularisation of excess expenditure for 2018–19 and 2019–20, as recommended by the Public Accounts Committee.
Two govt bills introduced in NLA; discussion on March 27
Two government bills were introduced during Phase-II of the 8th Session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) at Kohima on Thursday.
The Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority Bill, 2026 and the Nagaland Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026 were moved by deputy chief minister Yanthungo Patton.
NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer informed the House that consideration and passage of the bills would be taken up on March 27.
