Birla Open Minds Preschool inaugurated in Dimapur

Birla Open Minds Preschool (BOMPS) was inaugurated on Friday at Zenka Building, No. 36, Churches Colony, Ghoshito Lane, Dimapur. The event was graced by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) CEO Thungchanbemo Tungoe as guest of honour.
In his address, Tungoe congratulated the management and sponsors for establishing the preschool, describing the initiative as a commitment to nurturing young minds during the most critical stage of development. He underscored the importance of early childhood education in shaping creativity, character, and confidence.
He emphasized that education is a shared responsibility involving management, educators, parents, and the wider community, and called for collaborative efforts to create a conducive learning environment. Highlighting the need for creativity and emotional well-being in education, Tungoe expressed hope that the institution would foster innovation and help children realise their unique potential.
Speaking on the occasion, director (MF), Northeast India, Dr. Yan Murry shared a brief history of Birla Open Minds, stating that the initiative was launched in 2010 to expand into the education sector. He noted that the institution has grown over the past 15 years to include more than 300 schools across over 24 states, serving lakhs of students nationwide.
He further informed that in the Northeast, Birla Open Minds currently has a presence in states including Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, and Meghalaya, with plans for further expansion. Emphasising future goals, he highlighted three key focus areas—quality education, futuristic learning, and experiential learning aligned with national education policies.
Dr. Murry also outlined upcoming developments in the region, including expansion of facilities and the introduction of advanced learning initiatives such as robotics and technical education labs.
Earlier, the programme began with a welcome address by centre head Sorenbeni, followed by a visual presentation highlighting the institution. A speech on behalf of the management was delivered by Rhonchamo Humtsoe. Exhortation and dedicatory prayer was offered by senior pastor, Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur (LBCD), Rev. Dr. Yanbemo Ovung.
