Genius Sports bids Rs. 2129 cr for ISL, Federation Cup commercial rights

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has received a bid of over Rs. 2100 Crore from Genius Sports for the Indian Super League (ISL) and Federation Cup for a span of 20 years.
The Federation announced on Friday that it had opened the commercial bids for the Indian Super League (ISL), Federation Cup (formerly Super Cup), Indian Women’s League (IWL), and the IWL 2, reports Sportstar.
The floated tender involved rights for 15 years, with an option for a five-year extension. Moreover, the proposal also includes a five per cent increase in value every year over the duration of the agreement.
Genius Sports, a sports data and technology company, was the biggest commercial bidder with a bid of Rs. 2129 Cr. for men’s domestic football.
It was overwhelmingly high compared to DreamSports-owner FanCode, the broadcast partner for the ongoing ISL season. FanCode had offered around Rs. 36 Crore for the first season, with the total bid coming to over Rs. 700 Crore.
Founded in 2016, Genius Sports provides technology for the National Football League (NFL) (exclusive/data streaming), the Premier League, FIBA and the Japan B.League. It is also the official data partner for NASCAR.
It is also learnt that Reliance-owned Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) came in with a late proposal for an extension of its previous deal — which expired on December 8, 2025 — but that was rejected by the AIFF.
Meanwhile, Capri Sports was the lone bidder for the top two divisions of women’s football, with a bid of over Rs. 150 Cr. The company owns the UP Warriorz franchise in the Women’s Premier League and Bengal Warriors in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).
“Genius Sports has bid for over 2100 crore over 20 seasons, while Capri Sports has bid between 150 and 160 crore,” M. Satyanarayan, the AIFF’s Deputy Secretary General, told Sportstar.
“We are very thankful to all clubs and the AIFF Executive Committee because they have backed our teams, and we are happy that people are still interested in Indian football.”
AIFF said in a statement, “the bid evaluation report will be placed before the AIFF Executive Committee, which convenes its meeting on Sunday, March 29, 2026; a decision is expected on the same day.”

  • FanCode — ISL/Federation Cup — Around Rs. 1190 Cr.: Approved
  • FSDL — ISL — existing contract extension: Rejected
