LPG Supply Normal with 55 Lakh Refills Delivered; Govt Reassurance Amid Rumors

The Ministry of Petroleum announced on Sunday that the supply of domestic LPG cylinders remains normal across India, with over 55 lakh refills delivered on Saturday alone and no reported “dry-outs” at distributorships. Despite regional panic buying triggered by rumors and the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the government confirmed that all refineries are operating at high capacity with adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG. To streamline distribution and prevent black marketing, online bookings have reached 94% on an industry basis, and Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) usage has surged to 84%. Authorities have also taken strict enforcement measures, conducting approximately 2,900 raids and issuing 480 show-cause notices to curb hoarding. While proactive steps are being taken to ensure uninterrupted availability, citizens are encouraged to book online, utilize alternative fuels like PNG or induction cooktops, and remain vigilant against misinformation.
