The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways confirmed on Sunday that two Indian LPG carriers, BW TYR and BW ELM, have safely transited the Gulf region and are currently heading toward Indian shores with a combined cargo of 94,000 metric tonnes. BW TYR is expected to arrive in Mumbai by March 31, while BW ELM is scheduled to reach New Mangalore on April 1. Despite the ongoing regional tensions, the government assured that all Indian seafarers in the region remain safe, with no incidents involving Indian-flagged vessels reported in the last 24 hours. The Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) continues to monitor the 18 remaining Indian-flagged vessels in the western Persian Gulf via a 24/7 control room, which has already facilitated the repatriation of 942 seafarers. Simultaneously, port operations across major maritime states remain normal, and the Ministry of External Affairs is maintaining round-the-clock coordination with Indian Missions to provide consular and logistical support to students, visitors, and workers stationed in West Asia.
