Nagaland: Special registration campaign for PwDs

As part of the Disabilities Research, Empowerment and Accessibility Mission (DREAM) – Nagaland initiative, the department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship is undergoing special registration campaign for Person with Disabilities (PwDs) from March 1 to March 31.
The objective is to ensure equitable, accessible and inclusive registration of PwDs as Job-seeker for the purpose of employment (4% Job Reservation as per Right to Person with Disabilities Act 2016 with benchmark disabilities).
It covers all the 10 districts where Employment Exchange Unit Offices are established. The PwDs jobseeker’s data collected shall be integrated into the Employment Exchange Live Register. To ensure wider outreach and coverage, the Regional Employment Officer, Kohima in collaboration with the district administration is conducting a special registration campaign for the targeted group up to Sub-Divisional (SDO) level.
The Regional Employment Exchange, Kohima conducted registration campaign in various locations from March 20 to 24, March under Jakhama Sub-division. Under ADC, Chiephobozou on March 26, at ADC office, Chiephobozou and for Kohima on March 28 at Deputy Commissioner office, Kohima.
Special registration for PwDs as jobseekers shall be held at Sechu Zubza on March 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the office of the Sub Divisional Officer, Sechu Zubza. The minimum eligibility criteria for registration of PwDs as Job-seekers are Class 8 and 14 years of age. They should also hold a Unique Identity Card (UDID)/medical certificate from a competent authority for enrolment.
