One-day workshop for drugs control officers in Nagaland

The Drugs Control Officers (India) Welfare Association (DCOIWA), in coordination with the Drugs Control Administration Department of Health and Family Welfare, government of Nagaland, successfully organised a one-day workshop for the working drugs control officers of Nagaland as part of its commitment to continuous professional education. The event was graced by DCOIWA national president, G. Koteshwar Rao as the chief guest and L. Martemjen Longkumer as guest of honour.
A press release by Drugs Control Officers (India) Welfare Association Nagaland Chapter, assistant drugs controller and president, Ethungbemo Ezung stated that the workshop reflected strong commitment towards enhancing regulatory effectiveness.
In his address, G. Koteshwar Rao urged officers to actively engage in knowledge-driven programmes to strengthen enforcement mechanisms and curb circulation of spurious drugs. He reaffirmed DCOIWA’s commitment of educating and empowering State drugs control officers by imparting more legal and technical knowledge
Former Director General of Police (Gujarat), former joint director, CBI and advisor to the government of Assam IPA, Dr. Keshav Kumar, delivered a session on ‘Synergy between the Drugs & Cosmetics Act and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS)’, highlighting critical legal aspects in tackling counterfeit medicines and its investigation technique.
Former Drugs Controller, government of Haryana, Narendra Kumar Ahuja, spoke on ‘Mastering Sampling and Seizure under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act’, emphasising procedural accuracy and legal compliance.
Former Deputy Drugs Controller, government of Haryana, Rajender Harna, presented on ‘Navigating Lab to Court: Effective Prosecution and Documentation’, focusing on strengthening prosecution processes.
The session was chaired by Drugs Control Officer and General Secretary DCO(I) WA Nagaland chapter, T. Zubemo Kikon and vote of thanks by Assistant Drugs Controller and Vice- President DCO(I)WA Nagaland chapter, Lutovi Phucho.
