Alight Worship Church to host revival for differently abled in Dimapur

Staff Reporter

A special “Revival for the Differently Abled” will be organised by Alight Worship Church on April 4 and 5 in Dimapur, aiming to promote spiritual inclusion and reach out to individuals often overlooked in society.
Speaking at a press conference, revival organising committee member Zuchobeni Ovung said the initiative seeks to reach the “unreached” and remind differently abled individuals of their value and purpose. She noted that such individuals often face stigma and negative stereotypes, adding that the programme aims to affirm dignity and foster a sense of belonging.
Tikvah Centre proprietor Vikili Assumi informed that the revival will cater to individuals with visual, hearing, speech, and other physical disabilities. She encouraged families to bring their loved ones, stating that the programme would focus on both spiritual healing and encouragement.
Revival organising committee member Lulen Pongen informed that transportation arrangements had been made to ensure accessibility for participants across Dimapur, with pickup points at Sovima Gate (6 Mile Junction), Naga United (4th Mile, Hope Academy Junction), PadumPukhuri (Ao Church Junction), Naharbari (Holotoli School Junction), Tolovi (local ground), Burma Camp and Walford (traffic junction), Kashiram (ATM point junction), and Aoyimti (Town Panchayat Hall).
He further stated that outreach efforts were being carried out through various channels, including coordination with Prodigals’ Home under the guidance of its director Ella, to ensure maximum participation.
Pongen added that the revival would focus on key categories of disability, including visual, hearing, and locomotor impairments, and that sign language support would be provided for participants with hearing and speech challenges.
The organisers clarified that the programme was being conducted entirely on faith without fundraising, though voluntary contributions would be welcomed.
The event will be held at Alight Worship Church, opposite Don Bosco School in Dimapur, with Pastor Temjen Yadhen as the main speaker. The programme will begin at 4:30 p.m., with pickup services starting from 1 p.m.
Organisers also informed that while this would be the first revival specifically dedicated to the differently abled, it marked part of the church’s continued efforts towards community outreach and inclusive spiritual engagement.
