4 students from Nagaland to compete at INSPIRE awards

Four students from Nagaland have been recommended to represent the State at the National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC) of the INSPIRE Awards–MANAK, scheduled to be held in New Delhi.
According to DIPR report, their performance at the national stage will also determine selection for the prestigious Sakura Science High School Exchange Programme in Japan. Notably, two meritorious students from Nagaland had earlier been selected for the same programme.
The following students will represent Nagaland at the National Level: Ninile Tenenu, Mt. Hermon, Kohima; B. Sunga Phom, Azedon School, Kohima; Latongkumla, KV Tuli, Mokokchung and Wapangla Imsong, KV Tuli, Mokokchung.
The State Level Exhibition and Project Competition (SLEPC) and Mentoring Workshop was organised by SCERT Nagaland in collaboration with National Innovation Foundation (NIF), Gujarat and Department of Science & Technology (DST), New Delhi at SCERT Kohima on March 27, 2026.
Awardees from Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, Dimapur; GHS Upper Chandmari, Kohima; Mt. Hermon, Kohima; Little Star School, Dimapur; Azedon School, Kohima; and KV Tuli, Mokokchung (sessions 2023–24 and 2024–25) showcased their innovative projects.
SCERT director, Keviraleü Kerhüo, lauded the awardees, stating that their ideas reflect great potential and deserve appreciation. Additional director, Kerüüpfeü Rüpreo, urged the students to strive for further improvement and expressed gratitude to teachers, guides, evaluators, NIF and DST for their support.
The evaluators and mentors included Thingujam Jackson Singh, Head of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Dimapur; Dr. M. Prakash, Head of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NIT Dimapur; and Er. Dipjyoti Choudhury, Junior Associate, NIF.
Meanwhile, projects from Little Star School, Dimapur and Azedon School, Kohima will compete under the Technological Innovators category.
