Jain Samaj celebrates 2625th birth anniversary of Mahavira

The Jain Samaj of Nagaland celebrated the 2625th Birth Anniversary of Lord Mahavira on March 30, 2026, with a grand procession in Dimapur, joined by devotees from across the State.
The colourful procession featured members of Jain Samaj in saffron sarees singing devotional hymns, while men in white attire with religious sashes marched alongside. A specially designed chariot, pulled by Jain youths raising slogans, drew wide attention. Children from the Pathashala, dressed in religious costumes and carrying placards with the message “Live and Let Live”, added to the festive spirit.
The Jain School Band performed with precision as students in uniform followed with flags, banners, and placards in an orderly manner. Devotees along the route performed aarti with their families as the procession passed.
Beginning from the Jain Temple in Dimapur, the procession circled the area for about an hour before returning to the temple premises, where rituals of Abhishek and Aarti were performed.
