Rahul to transit via Dimapur for Assam poll campaign

DIMAPUR, APR 1 (NPN):

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to transit through Dimapur en route to Assam to lead the party campaign for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections.
According to sources, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to arrive at Dimapur on April 2 en route to Assam. He is expected to meet Congress leaders from Nagaland led by the state party president at the airport. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also spearhead the BJP’s campaign, while the Congress campaign will be led by AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge along with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Dimapur police notify ‘no fly zone’: In view of the VVIP transit journey, the Dimapur police have temporarily declared the area within Chümoukedima district as “Red Zone” (No Fly Zone) from 6am to 6pm of on April 2, 2026.
In an order, the commissioner of police (CP) Dimapur, Aotula T Imchen, has prohibited that use of any kind of remotely piloted aircraft (RPA), drones etc.
Further, Dimapur police have also restricted conduct of any kind of firing practice by security forces/ civil police/ central police/ private firing range or any civilian holder of licensed fire arms and bursting of any kind of firecrackers from 6am to 6pm of April 2, 2026.
