Phek village restricts import of piglets

DIMAPUR:

The Phek Village held its annual council meeting on March 31 at Phek Village Community Hall.
The meeting adopted various resolutions for the welfare and holistic village development for the year 2026-27.
Among others, the Council decided to totally restrict import of piglets from outside (big or small) for rearing purpose within the Phek village jurisdiction.
In view of the restriction, the Council decided to opt for local sourcing for healthy and safety livestock farming within the village.
The Council reaffirmed its support to Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) resolution on banning the import of pig from outside the state.
The Council also resolved to construct the village common graveyard, wherein MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, who was also present at the meeting, assured to fund the same.
Earlier, the meeting was chaired by Thupuve Vero, chairman Phek Village Council while Rev. Vesito Venuh, Pastor, Phek Village Baptist Church invoked God’s blessing.
The meeting concluded with closing prayer by Kuzhohu Soho, pastor CRC Phek Village.
