Assam Rifles, under Spear Corps, carried out a comprehensive two-day drone exercise at the Drone Training Node in Jalukie aimed at strengthening tactical surveillance and technical handling skills. The programme featured rigorous flight drills and situational simulations, focusing on the deployment of unmanned aerial systems in diverse operational roles.
The exercise was witnessed by DIG, 6 Sector Assam Rifles, who inspected the preparations of the participating teams and reviewed technical setups. Expressing satisfaction with the high state of readiness, he underscored the importance of integrating advanced technology into routine monitoring and security frameworks. He encouraged personnel to perform with precision and continue honing their specialized skills, highlighting aerial technology as a vital tool for modern operational success. The event concluded with successful tactical demonstrations showcasing seamless coordination and technical expertise.
Meanwhile, under its flagship initiative “Friends of the Hills”, Assam Rifles organised a special outreach programme at PM SHRI Government Middle School, Peren Town. Essential stationery items including books, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and eatables were distributed among children. The initiative was widely appreciated by teachers, parents, and local residents, who lauded Assam Rifles for promoting education and supporting children in remote areas. The Nagaland Education Department also acknowledged the effort, terming it significant for enhancing grassroots educational engagement.
On the occasion of Good Friday, Assam Rifles further extended humanitarian aid to Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home, Bright Morning Star Children Home, and Tabitha Enabling Academy, Kohima. Essential supplies were donated to support the well-being of inmates and beneficiaries. The interaction was marked by warmth and goodwill, with management and residents expressing gratitude for the timely support.
