Committee set up for CM’s technology hub

DIMAPUR, APR 8 (NPN):

Nagaland government has constituted a state high level committee (SHLC) for the Chief Minister’s Technology Hub (CM Hub) in the State.
According to a DIPR report, the CM Hub would serve as a high-level platform under the chief minister, to drive adoption and innovation in Information Technology, electronics and new age niche technologies in the State.
The committee headed by chief minister as chairman and advisor IT&C as deputy chairman would include the following members advisor to CM, chief secretary, commissioner & secretary IT&C, public relations officer to CM, co-opted member of the chairman and commissioner & secretary to CM.
As per terms of reference, the SHLC would serve as the policy apex and strategic oversight body. It would formulate and recommend policies related to IT and emerging technologies. The committee would identify, prioritize and conceptualize niche technology projects and initiatives.
SHLC would source and pursue funding from Government of India schemes, grants and other external sources.
Further, the committee would facilitate inter-departmental coordination for technology-driven projects; monitor progress of projects with periodic reporting to the governing body and provide advisory and expert inputs on technology adoption and innovation.
The state high level committee members would meet quarterly to review strategy, policy decisions and project status of the CM Hub.
Besides, the program management unit (PMU) would be set up comprising of a team of consultants with domain experts in IT, electronics, new and niche technologies, etc, and technical teams from the department of information, technology & communication, Nagaland.
The program management unit would operate under the administrative supervision of the department of IT&C and would report monthly to the Governing Body with detailed progress and risk reports.
Department of Information Technology & Communication has been designated as the nodal department and the sole executing and monitoring agency for the Chief Minister’s Technology Hub in Nagaland.
The provisions laid down in the Nagaland Rules of Executive Business 2020 would be complied with.
